#PlungeBeard Day 24 – Up in Smoke

Ohhhhhhh man. I got a new pledge yesterday! And from none other than Mr. Mark Wilson. I’m going to bury you in a pile of karma points, my friend. Thank you for the pledge!

So, up in smoke. It’s been a while since I blogged, but pledges have chilled out. No worries, though. I’ve got 8 Beardsly left. I still can’t believe that we made it to almost 32 Beardsly (Thanks agian, Wilson!). That’s almost $1,600!

Oh yeah.. up in smoke. What a great day today! I have to brag a little. But first hubris. I tried to make Focaccia last night. It was crap. Fortunately, Sharon’s seafood stew was out of this world. Clams, mussels, scallops, pureed fish. It was a work of art! I was there to make martinis and focaccia. The martinis were but a 96 on the 90-100 scale (90 being “send it back” and 100 being “impossible”), so it was a “should’ve left it longer in the ice”-tini.

imageSo last night’s focaccia was flat. But today I was able to conquer! I had missed a rise before the bake. I also made banana bread and smoked the heck out of some ribs. Okay so there’s a lack of hubris, but look at those smoke rings! No rubs, no sauce. Just pure meat. and no one else eating tonight even opened th bbq sauce!

Rawley, the rent’s, and the company loved the ribs and the turkey that Papa J made. Mac ate hot dogs. The world keeps on turning.

Okay so that’s the update. Many thanks to everyone who has gotten me this far!

BTW – I’m looking for just $5 to get me to 32 beardsly. If you haven’t yet…
