#PlungeBeard Day 32 – I’ve Been Walking
I started walking two Tuesdays ago. It’s been every day since then. I’m not sure why.
What I have found is that it’s the one time of day I get to think. I didn’t realize what a luxury that was. I think that’s why I’ve kept it up.
No one has time to think today. Kids, family, school, work, friends—all those important things that should take priority in life–also have a tendency to nudge out brain time. When it’s go go go all the time we start living reactively without taking the opportunity to think things through.
The other cool thing about it is that walking is something you can do with just about anyone. Adria and I are trying to go for more walks with the kids. Today I walked Rawley all the way down to the grocery store and back. Turns out it was more than 5 miles. The darn temperature kept dropping, too. It ended up 6 degrees colder by the time we got back. Rawley handled it like a boss and we came back victorious with bacon, bagels and donuts.
So that’s today. There are some great people to thank again. The donations of these two pushed me over 40 Beardsly! In fact, I’m sitting here needing a scant $240 to have enough beardsly to wear this sweet face carpet all the way to the plunge on March 12.
A big thank you to…
AIDS – it’s been so long! Thank you for staying as cool as ever! When are you coming back to MN so I can appropriately harrass you with thanks?!
And Chris – A big happy thanks to you! May the rabbits of fortune hop in your direction!
