#PlungeBeard Day 39 – Spring in my Step
What a DAY! What the heck was the high today like 58 degrees? Did we break 60?
Mac had a birthday party to attend this afternoon, so Adria and I threw the stroller in the trunk and dragged Rawley out to the Hyland Lake Park Reserve (Southwest corner of 169 & 494). There we hammered out almost 5 miles and didn’t even get through half the trails.
There is something magical in MN the first day you nip at the heals of 60 degrees. Everyone is smiling. Everyone is saying “hello.” There’s a sense of relief that we’ve survived another Winter and regardless of the crap weather it feebly tries to throw at us, we’ve tasted SPRING, and there’s nothing Winter can do about it.
Suck it, Winter. It’s time for us to see other seasons.
After picking up Mac, we went straight to Von Hansen’s and got some burger. Adria and I grilled, the kids played outside and then we just sat on the deck after dinner enjoying the freedom of being outside without layers and layers of clothing.
SPRING.
Of course I’m supposed to plunge into a frigid lake next weekend… I’m confident the ice will stay on for another week, which means the water will be just as cold and I and my fellow Wolf Pack will be just as tortured as last time. Don’t you worry!
And speaking of a little spring in my step. I have to give some serious props to Paul and Trinda!! Thank you for donating a beardsly! Remind me that I owe you guys a few heel clicks and high fives the next time we get together! Oh and any of you reading this interested in doing a Mary Kay party – Trinda is your girl!
FINALLY–We are SO CLOSE. Just $140 away from my goal of $2,250. I’m not looking to close it out, although my beard has told me it’s a bit nervous that we’re so close to the end, but haven’t quite clinched the final beardsly necessary…
What a horrible fate to make it this far but not take the plunge. Please put my beard’s fears to rest and…
